Tattoo Kits

Choose a tattoo kit around the course you are taking and the practice you need to complete. Compare the current equipment list, check compatibility and confirm whether equipment is included in your selected course option before ordering.

Compare the current tattoo equipment options

The Wireless Tattoo Equipment Set is listed separately in the South African catalogue. Its published contents include a rotary pen, rechargeable batteries, practice skins, cartridges, inks, transfer paper, ink cups and grip wraps, with a toolbox for storage. Review the product page for the exact quantities and current contents.

If you already have some supplies, compare the separate Rotary Pen Machine option rather than assuming you need another full set. Ask the training team whether your existing equipment suits the assignments you intend to complete.

Is a kit included with your course?

  • Online tattoo training: equipment is optional and separate unless your selected offer explicitly includes it. The current online tattoo course lets you order equipment later or use suitable existing equipment. Its Pay As You Go information says equipment is needed from Part 4.
  • In-person tattoo training: the in-person course has Including Equipment and Excluding Equipment choices. Select the option you want and confirm what you take home, what is supplied during attendance and what you need for later practice.
  • Several disciplines: use the course package builder to compare training and equipment choices together. Machine-based subjects can share a machine option in the builder; check the selected package details before buying duplicate machines.

Check these details before you buy

  • Machine and power: confirm the machine type, battery or power connection, charging accessories and any separate power supply required.
  • Compatible supplies: check which cartridges or other consumables fit the machine and which supplies your course exercises require.
  • Practice materials: plan for practice skin, design and transfer materials, ink cups and the consumables you will use across repeated assignments.
  • Ongoing costs: separate the initial kit purchase from consumable replacements. A kit photograph does not establish how many tattoos or practice sessions its contents will cover.
  • Support and delivery: read the selected product’s current warranty, support and delivery terms, and ask about any unclear item before ordering.

Equipment supports the learning

A kit is part of your training preparation. It does not replace the lessons, supervised feedback or assessment work. The tattoo course includes fine-line tattooing alongside other linework, shading and colour styles. Start with the exercises assigned in your course and use the fine-line learning guide to plan your practice record and questions for your tutor.

For advice before you order, contact the Skinart training team with your chosen course, the kit or machine you are considering and any equipment you already own.
