Tattoo removal and scalp micropigmentation are also available in the Skinart catalogue, but they are not among the activities named in that directory entry. Check the recognition stated on each course page rather than assuming every Skinart course has the same accreditation.

Using a course for your CPD record

Continuing professional development can help you organise the skills you are learning and reflect on how you apply them. If an employer, insurer or professional body requires CPD, ask that organisation which subjects, evidence and learning hours it will accept before enrolling.

  • Match the curriculum to the skill or knowledge gap you want to address.
  • Confirm the completion requirements and the certificate or other evidence available for your selected course.
  • Keep your learning dates, course details and completion evidence together.
  • Record what you practised, the feedback you received and what you intend to improve next.

For example, a tattoo learner could record repeated linework exercises and tutor feedback alongside their course evidence. An experienced piercer could record a review of workstation routines and the further learning identified through that review. Keep the record specific to what you actually completed.

Training recognition and permission to practise

CPD accreditation and course completion evidence do not, by themselves, confirm professional registration, an insurer’s acceptance or permission to offer a procedure at a particular premises. Check those requirements with the relevant organisation and your local municipality for the activity and location you have in mind.
